8th Math The divisibility rule

 class 8th math

Divisibility Rule

1- The divisibility rule for 2

The rule says that any number that ends in a 0, 2, 4, 6, or 8 can be divided by 2 to produce a whole number.

All even numbers (numbers that always end in 0, 2, 4, 6 or 8) are divisible by 2.

 for eg-  12,24, 30,74, 88, 502 etc

2- The divisibility Rule for 3

If the sum of all digits of that whole number is  Divisible by 3 then that number is also divisible by 3

eg- 63

6+3=9
9  is divisible by 3 hence 63 is also divisible by 3

eg- 582

5+8+2 =15

15  is divisible by 3 hence  582 also divisible by 3

3- The divisibility rule for 4

If the number formed by digits at tens place and ones place is divisible by 4 then that whole number  also divisible by 4

eg- 164

tens and ones place num is 64
64 is divisible by 4  hence 164 also divisible by 4

 eg   5564, 34564, 2355616,786656,97875616 etc

4- The divisibility rule for 5

If the last digit of any number is 0  or  5 then that number is divisible by 5

eg- 25 , 300 ,567775   557890, 22345,4545,230, etc
